Which canon macro lens

Which canon macro i should get am told both are equally sharp just that one got IS

So they are

100mm f2.8
100mm f2.8 L IS
 
The IS is outstanding and IS does work for macro.
I think both are as sharp as eachother, but if I was to go back to canon I'd rebuy the IS without hesitation.
 
I have the L IS...

It has great colour reproduction, great contrast and is lovely and sharp...

The IS makes hand holding it a dream..

This lot was all hand held in a greenhouse on a grey day...

Hi,

Did you any flash with those macro? Best price I can get this lens is £694 from Jacobs.

It is a lovely lens...a pleasure to use,,,,

Try Kerso.... 649 I think at the moment....

I started with nikon, then sold up for a year or so, then went canon to try and didn't like it so went back to nikon.

I didn't like the canon bodies, but the lenses are fantastic. The canon 100mmL knocks socks off the nikon 105 VR.
 
+1 for the Canon L IS

I sold a Sigma 10 - 20 and a Sigma 105 to fund the purchase. It is excellent, particularly if you are a creeping around bug hunter where the IS really comes into its own.

It's arrived!! And I'm very excited :D So much so that I'm thinking of taking the afternoon off and getting outside with it. It will be just my luck that it will hammer it down all weekend ;)

Need to dig out that macro book I bought recently...
