Which Canon Powershot?

There are two main differences:

1. They use different sensors a CCD in the SX20 and a CMOS in the SX1 - in theory the CMOS is a better sensor though tests between the SX1 and the SX10 (the model before the SX20) didn't show any real advantage.

2. the SX1 has full 1080HD video while the SX20 only has 720HD - HD video is a big selling point these days so I guess for many this might be worth the extra.

Also, the SX 1 IS is over a year old, the SX20 is a coupe of months old and we know how fast technology drops down! The SX 1 has faster motordrive, Raw, full HD, and a 2.8 LCD, and a RUBBISH viewfinder compared to the SX20/SX10. Also, you're probably going to want to shoot in full resolution and not wide screen, so you actually loose some of the LCD. i.e there are black bars down the side.
