So I work as an engineer on a ship, I'm due to go away for 3 months next week and want to get a compact to take with me. Last time I went away I took my 40D and 4 lenses which was great to have, but I found a pain to travel with and more to the point very dodgy to take out in some places (mainly in South America)
I'm thinking of something like the powershot G-series cameras so I can use my 580EXII and triggers with it if I want to but am open to other suggestions and have around £400 to spend.
Type of photography is going to be extremely varied with it, thoughts and opinions on what to go for?
