which custom setting are needed to shoot football with my new Canon 7D

I just bought a Canon 7D. I have to shoot my son's state championship football game this weekend but I don't know how to this this new camera. What custom setting are needed for shooting fast moving subjects like football players? The photos last week were way too fuzzy...help! Clearly the camera is not set properly.

Maybe posting a photo that you took would help. What was your previous camera? and what experience with a DSLR do you have? Sounds like you have jumped in the deep end
