Which Filters for Canon ?

Hi all,

I am thinking of purchasing a UV filter and a Circular Polarizer for my Canon 30D and lenses.

Which reasonably priced filter makes/models would you recommend ?

There has been big debates on this forum whether filters should be used on lenses for various reasons.

But i do if going out in the wild for landscapes, but not for portrait locally.

yeah the general consensus is that they cause flare. I've noticed flare a lot more since i bought a lens with a Hoya skylight fitted but i just forget it's on there to be honest.
