Which flash? Nissin or Metz?

I'm needed a flash to work on for my up coming projects etc and i indeed in a budget as well so hopefully can get something that is decent for the money.

I come across the Nissin Di622 where i can get it for second hand for around £60 or the Brand new Di622 mkii for around £120

I also come across to the Metz 44 AF-1 which sell for around £129 brand new.

So not sure which one is good to buy.

I'm tend to go for the Nissin Di622 because of the price for the second hand.
 
SB600 is over price second hand in most shop, they sell them for around £179, ebay not much flowing around and it cost abit as well.

I just need a flash that is easy to use and it can bounce the light and also it allow to swival around to combine different bounce.

I don't use flash often but i do need it for some occassion where flash is better.
 
I have the Canon version Metz 44. And tbh, its worth more then what i got it for, (around the same price) And im more then happy with it. I use nearly every feature it offers me, even the modeling light function. You wont be displeased with it!
 
Personally I'd go for Metz if I wasn't going for Nikon. I admit I've no experience of the Nissin flashes so they may be fine but Metz is a much more known quantity.
 
I quite like the Metz actually, they get good review and quality.

To throw in the mix i adding Metz 50 AF-1 and Metz 54 MZ-4i in the bowl.

The 50 Af-1 brand new is £179 and the Metz 54 MZ-4i second hand is £169.

What is the main different between the two, it seems the spec is very similar.
 
I'm pulling the trigger on the Metz simply because of the review and good quality they produce.

Getting the Metz 50 AF-1 because the spec is very good etc and does the job for my purpose. Also i get 5% off and 5% cash back so is good saving lol.
 
jsut pull the trigger on the Metz 50 Af-1. Getting it tomorrow in the shop, hopefully is all good :)
 
Have you considered the LumoPro flashes? The strobist really likes them and they have good prices. Looks like you've got the Metz now though, how do you like it? I've heard great reviews about those as well.
 
i went to collect the flash after work today and tried it first thing when i got home.

got to admit the metal mount is good and stay solid on the camera, not too worry about dropping off.

button and menu on the LED is simple to read and operate, it take me only a sec to figure out how to use it etc but of course advice setting still require time to play around with.

In general the I-TTL auto flash and bounce light etc, the result had been great to my eyes.

overall the flash had been great so far and i only paid around £160 for it so no complain and the flash is made in german as well.
