Hi - im wanting to put a speedlight on my xmas list :D
But Im not sure which to go for - Im pretty sure that the SB600 would cover my needs at the moment, seeing as Ive not used a flashgun before. But Im worried that altho it may be ok for now, I might quickly find that I should have had the SB800 or SB900?
Would really appreciate some advice on this - does the SB600 suit peoples needs for long time or is it just a beginners speedlight?

To help,my main reason for wanting a speedlight is because i find the light from my on camera flash to be very harsh and from what I have seen and read the light from the speedlights can be more flattering. I would only really be using it instead of my on camera flash.

Hope my ramble makes some sense to someone?

Hi there

Can I ask what camera you will be using it on?

I have two SB-600s and I love them. You can do pretty much anything you want with them and, if your camera has commander mode built in, you can use them off-camera too, with no cables required.
 
I'm sure it does. Check the book - page 96
