Which Fuji X Series?

Oh dear I've changed my mind again. I'm definitely going to buy the 35mm and 60mm with the £300 cashback offer as these are the 2 lenses I want. Then I'm going to get a body from the Fuji refurb shop. My choices are;
X-e1
X-pro1
X-e1 with 18-55
X-e2

I'm that order of price. It seems like I'm mainly going to use the EVF and not the OVF and I'm happy with the size of my x100s so that probably suggests not to go for the xpro1. I saw a video comparing the focusing of the xe1 and 2 and there didn't seem much difference in speed really. So that leaves me thinking of just getting the cheap xe1. There is a difference of £225 between body only and with the zoom. Not sure whether to have the zoom as well.

If anyone can think of anything I've missed........

The X-E1 has just been reduced to £350, take away the paypal12 discount code for 10%, you pay £315, that's a really good price. I was about to buy one as my only camera but have decided to get a x100s.

Yeah I've seen that deal. Pretty epic. Its £540 for the 18-55 kit. Trying to work out I should get that for the extra

But I wonder how much use it will be as I have an x100s and will get the 35 and 60. Maybe better served with the samyang fisheye.......

Aaaargh, just buy one!! :)

I have the X100s and X Pro 1, I dont find the size difference an issue, its an interchangeable, the X100s is fixed so it makes sense. Size with an interchangeable CSC is imo an advantage (depending on size of lenses), it also has OVF and is nicer when using the larger primes. (BTW - Ive also owned the XE1 so can make an informed comparison).

Did you notice the EVF being worse on the xpro 1?

Cool. They out of stock on the refurb shop of the xpro 1 now though so I guess its moot. Thanks for all your insights though (and patience lol)

No problem, good luck, I also liked the XE1, its not like I hated it. Either EVF just isnt great in lower light (lag) so I prefer the option of a hybrid when required. Both cams are really great though.

if the xpro1 was in stock at fuji refurbs you would be looking at £450 after discount then paying £408 & £449 (cheapest I can find) for the 35&60. After the £300 cashback that makes the total spend £1007

Or if you buy the Xpro1 kit brand new at £889 claim the free 60mm lens, purchase the 35 at £408 & claim £100 cash back your total spend is £1197 in effect giving you the 18mm for £190

With the latter option you would be covered for 18, 23, 35 & 60 between both cameras so certainly no need for a zoom and if you find out the 18 is no use to you I don't think you would get much less than £190 for it once the cashbacks are gone.

Just another option to confuse you further

Thats the way I suggested to do it previously, imo the best way.

In all seriousness though Andy I think you will be happy with the xpro it's a cracking camera. And oh what a joy it is leaving the house with a tiny camera bag.

EDIT: I wandered why the PC locked up for a few secs there, now I see why.

Great call on the xpro1. Its awesome

Its a lovely thing, such attention to detail, nice packaging, deep engravings. Love mine. The XT1 is tempting but its a lot more money and Im not convinced about the shape.
