Which lens cloth?

I'm on the lookout for a lenscloth and have seen the Spudz one for around a fiver which seems to get good reviews. Are these made from materials more special than a std microfibre cloth or even the Jessops (blue) one?
 
Btw I have a bunch of Pentax cloth from Specsavers that you get with the glasses, I assume those are fine for lenses too?
 
I use a sigma lens cloth. Feels like heavy silk rather than microfibre but it works very well. It's about a foot square too.

Great lens cloth - sown into a little neoprene case with a clip attached
 
MAPLINS do a good line. 5 for £3 The old days, all camera mkers made their own, £5 each.
 
Calumet microfibre cloths for the lenses themselves and a grubby t-shirt, dirty hankie or anything else for the filters when I'm out and about...

Where it will gather all manner of crud to spread onto the lens, or is it in a bag of some kind?
Pockets used to be good for this sort of thing...lol

I eventually opted for a Pentax Supaclean. Just waiting for it to be delivered now.
 
I use the little tissues as a one off rather than a microfibre cloth. Either with a huff to sleam the lens up a little or with a drop or 2 of lens cleaning fluid.

I use a microfibre cloth for cleaning the platten of my scanner and my specs (on the rare occasions I wear specs rather than contact lenses).
 
I use the (washable) Baader Optical Wonder Cloth (and Optical Wonder Fluid) on my camera and telescope optics.
 
I use Cernata digital cleanroom wipes. Bought a couple of packs for work. 150 for £23.99 and they are far better than any other 'lens' cloth I have used. Completely lint free and really nice. :)
 
I just use what ever T-shirt im wearing:shrug:

I did have a 'lens cloth' but it leaves tonnes of fibers all over the lens (brilliant piece of product design:thinking:) I really should get a decent lens cloth, especially when i get my 'real' lenses.
 
3M lens cloth, best thing I've ever used. Although I can't find them on sale anywhere anymore!
 
I have loads of microfibres from detailing my car, so have loads of unused ones, so use one of the finer ones, and works a complete treat

my cousin uses asda's microfibres and they work as well (I just happened to have one of the "premium" ones, but would use asda's ones too lol)

leaves no streaks, no scratches and no fibres :)

The 3M deal looks good.

I received my Pentax lenscloth just before the weekend and have now posted up a mini-review here.
 
I've used just about everything from a T shirt/tie to lens tissue and microfibre cloths from various sources, and I haven't found any compelling advantages to any of them.

The main thing is, be careful. Don't clean the lens unnecessarily, and make sure there's no dust or grit on it first. I usually use a Lenspen now, or a clean supermarket microfibre cloth with lens fluid if I want to do a wet clean.
