Which lens for rugby

I'm looking to add a lens to my 70-200 2.8 which I use for rugby on my D500. I'm looking at either the Sigma 150-600 sport or the 200-500. But can't decide which to get. I know the weather sealing on the Sigma is better so that keeps playing on my mind as we all know what British weather can be like. Can anyone help

80-400 nikon ??

If you buy a cover for the lens, then the weather sealing is irrelevant.

I'd go for as fast a lens as possible. I assume the '200-500' you quote is the Nikon f5.6 and not the Sigma f2.8!!!???

Personally I'd go for the Nikon.

Once you go above 200ish then you're almost certainly looking at monopod for support.

Also, as has been said, if you use a sensible cover then the weather sealing isn't really important.

Personally, I shoot with the Sigma 180-300 sport 2.8 with a 1.4 tele if needed. I find that most flexible.

It depends to an extent whether you value reach over quality / aperture.. unless you have serious money to spend.
