Hi all I currently own 4 lenses

Tamron SP AF 10 - 24mm F/3.5 - 4.6,
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G,
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED VR Lens

I was wondering what lens would be best for distance and close ups on a Nikon D7100 can somebody help me decide between these 2 lenses and what are the pro's and con's of both lenses
as they are both within my budget maybe I cant see the woods for the tree's but in laymans terms as I am still getting to grips with all the tech talk

Lens 1
Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 DG APO Macro which I can pick-up for £140

OR

Lens 2
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens which I can pick-up for £155

please accept my humble apologies if this seems like a lame question but I would like to zoom in closer than I currently can and would possibly one day like to get some macro shots
I currently only have approx £200 left to spend on a lens to satisfy my needs so I really need to get this right and Don't know who else to ask without sounding stupid

Many thanks for anybody who takes the time to help

For me I would save the little extra and get a Tamron 70-300mm VC (approx £282.00 new or £200.00 second hand), it's a very good lens and better than the 55-300mm Nikon which I have owned. The Sigma I haven't owned but it doesn't have Vibration Reduction (VR which helps to get a more stable and in focus picture).

If you want close work as in Macro, the Sigma isn't a true Macro lens, it just a lens that can take close up pictures. You maybe better of with a Raynox adapter for your 18-105mm lens. Have a look around the Macro section on here and they will advise.
