Hi all,

I currently have a 17-85mm IS USM. My friend is selling his sigma 24-70mm f2.4 EX DG.

I've tried it and its nice, but as Ive not really played with my lens much yet im not sure what to do. If I buy his, i'll have to sell mine to fund it.

What do you think?
 
i havnt used the sigma, but the 17-85 is an ok lens. The sigma is a constant aperture 2.8 throughout the zoom range. Unless you have got something to fill in below 24mm you have lost your wide angle especially on a 1.6 x crop camera.

Have a good play with both shooting the same scene and see what you think on computer.
