Beginner Which lens?

I’ve saved enough to now get another lens.
Mostly for portrait of kids x pets and the odd landscape.
I was thinking out of Canon 24-105 or 17-40?
It’s to use on my canon 5d mkiii

50mm 1.2L or 85mm 1.2L if it was me. Or for a zoom, the 24-70mm 2.8L ii.

I would imagine the 24-70 F2.8 would be a good asset for you. Would fulfil both your requirements better than the 24-105 although there is a big difference in price.
