Hi Guys,

To aid me in the use of my new medium format setup, I would like to purchase a light meter.

I see prices starting around £100, and going as high as £400. Can anyone here offer any tips on what model to go for? On my D3 I like to use Spot Metering, and sometimes eval (entire scene).

Any help appreciated.

Gary.

I've just ordered the Sekonic L308S which should arrive tomorrow. I'll give it a whirl and let you know how I get on with it!

I've got a 308 of some sort but it doesn't do spot metering, I thing given your level Gary if you're happy spot metering then buy a Sekonic with a spot meter. I don't know about the other models as the 308 is the only one I've used but it's easyto use and faily well made so I'd imagine that would continue across the range.

I'm not sure if you use much flash but the 308 can't measure flash and ambient at the same time.

Buy right, buy once;)

Just use your D3 as a light meter!

3ton D3 or 300g light meter? I know which one his back will thank him for carrying;)
