Which Light meter?

I am looking at getting a light meter, the two I have looked at are Sekonic 308s and the 358
Who has which and what are the pros and cons for them
Where is the best price to buy?

I've got a Sekonic 308s, haven't used it that often to be honest and being the only one i have owned can't offer any useful pointers, but it does what i need it to.

I think the 358 allows you to fire the lights remotely, though stand to be corrected.

Bought mine specifically for the studio but it is also useful for the film cameras as it is easier to meter than using the built in light detector

We have a few Sekonic 308s in the studio, good bits of kit and does the job well. Also useful out on location too.

You can find them on Flee-Bay for around the £100 a pop.

ah but there are many companies on there I wish to know one I can trust I got one order I am still waiting for now some I have had next day.

Then try Warehouse Express or similar, about £130 a pop.

I us the Sekonic Flashmate L-308S. Great piece of kit! Nice and small, fits in a pocket. Very accurate for flash and ambient light.

One Stop Digital are doing it for fractionally over £100, they are well respected, and repay custom duties if they are charged.

Chaz, I put a wanted add on here and got one as new in box for £90+p&p. Watch out for non S models appearing on eBay if you do go down that route.

I have no idea but the non S version tends to go for 60-70 so don't get stung paying too much for the older version.

Have a look at Ffordes site. I got my mint Sekonic L558 from them 2nd hand. They usually have a fair selection of used meters.
