Looking to get a new monitor calibration device as my Pantone Huey is getting a bit old and I am sure things must have improved somewhat so I have a shortlist but would be interested to here what peoples views and recommendations would be.

  1. Spyder 3 Elite
  2. i1 Display 2
  3. ColorMunki Photo

I had the i1 display 2.

Now have the Spyder3 Elite as part of the Studio pack.

The Spyder seems similar to the i1 on my IPS panels but is superior on more consumer level monitors.

The Spyder 3 also profiles dual monitors in the software. The i1 had to be tricked to do that.

+1 on Spyder 3 Elite :) I too bought mine as part of the Studio package which includes the printer profiler too.

I have a Pantone Huey, which I upgraded to Pro to cover the 2nd monitor. Have been pleased with it - until yesterday and its given me a green cast to the screen.

Waiting to hear what Pantone say - its probably out of warranty, in which case, I'll watch this thread...

That's what happened to me when I first bought a screen calibrator, I bought the Pantone Huey Pro. Except mine happened straight out of the box brand new, so I sent it back and got the Spyder 3 Elite.
