Which Monopod

My Manfrotto 679B arrived this morning and I'm not sure what to do with it ,it was a free gift from a magazine subscription, well not exactly free but you know what I mean. I currently have the Velbon UP-4000 monopod and don't need two so wanted to sell one of them

I'll list my pro's and cons below but if anyone has any opinion on either one let me know

Velbon UP-4000
Pros-

Shorter
Lighter
Has a retractable Spike on the foot
Taller, I'm 6" 3 and this is ample tall enough​

Cons-

3 Pieces for the legs
bit poncy but it's a gold colour so doesn't look as nice​

Manfrotto 679B
Pros-

Looks nicer in black
Sturdier
Larger top plate
has 2 different screw sizes on the top, I don't need this but might at some point
Only 2 sections to the legs means easier setting up

Cons-

Heaver, only slightly
Longer when collapsed
Doesn't have the spike that the Velbon does
Shorted when fully extended, I only have to lean forward slightly to see the viewfinder but it's eye level with the Velbon​

Well if you didn't have a problem with the velbon then I suggest you keep it as the new one would sell more easily especially given its new. Alternatively you could list both in the classified section and see which one goes first?

Well after some thinking, the two things that sold it for me were the fact it was black and in my opinion looked a little more professional (snobby I know), and more importantly that it just felt a little sturdier. Sold the Velbon to a work colleague as his first monopod and have kept the Manfrotto for myself.
