Which Monopod would be best?

With a foot rest?

I wouldn't get either of them. With a monopod you are just using it to support the weight of the camera so you want a good head. I have a manfrotto with a ball head where you can adjust the friction. You want it set so that it stays in position by itself but just needs a slight force to move the position. If you have a cheap head you need a stronger hold supporting the camera so you will get more camera shake.

cheers gareth, I'll hold back a month on this and get one, just thought at £12 I cant go wrong, but the swivel head sounds like I'll get a much better motion when panning

I have one that does not get used as much as I would like, but it held my Pentax K7 & Sigma 120-400 excellently. Sigma is now sold.
