which nikon body for manual focus lenses (AIS)

hi all,

what older / inexpensive bodies - film or digital have the viewfinder screen that allows for accurate focusing of manual lenses?

looking to go as cheap as possible.. will the nikon N75/F75 have this screen?

Asking, as i've been told that digital body viewfinders aren't geared towards manual focus lenses where the older ones where?

Newer AF screens are brighter and generally best suited for manual focusing with lenses f2.8 and slower. Can you get replacement matte screens for the D300?

Hey, I really dont want to fiddle with my D300 and could soon be selling it on.

I wanted an older body as they are apparently top notch viewfinders for manual focusing and also as an excuse to give film a try...
