Which Nikon for video?

Hi all,

I've not been frequenting the forums much in the last 18 months, working too hard/new family member etc but it's time I got back in to my photography.

I've been doing some product shots, christenings etc but I've not taken any weddings for this year, taking a year off but have books for next year. I want to be able to add a little video into to my offerings as well as stills.

I already have a D700, 24-70 f2.8 & 70-200 f2.8, but want a decent video SLR so I can get to grips with it over the next year along side my gopro etc, get used to it all and start adding it as a bonus next year.

What would people suggest for a Nikon SLR for photos and video, full frame ideally? I was thinking of getting a D800 to start, something decent to practice with, then look at selling the D700 and getting a brand new top of the range camera to replace it keeping the D800 as a backup.

Mainly shooting people/events.

Thanks :)

Seriously think about the D750 for all aspects of your photography!

Loads of people especially event photographers are using the d750 as part or all of there kit!
I've got one and wouldn't swap it for anything to me it's perfect smaller light tilt screen ISO is unbelievable just all round perfect

Sorry @Harvey_nikon on posting on your thread.

Ben what lens do you use with the D750 for video?

Thank you

I haven't used it for video!

Wedding photographers do and I've watched videos of the d750 being used for videos and it gets brilliant reviews!

The lenses I use which I wouldn't hesitate in trying for video is the 16-35 f4 / 24-120 f4 and soon I'll have the 80-400 AF-S

Ben,

Thank you, saving up for a D750 and will also have to get a lens as I only have the 28-105 which will work with FF. I wonder how the Tamron 28-75 would work for video on the D750.
