No
hi guys, well ive sorted my dilemma of holders, adapters and nd grads, but ive enough money to buy 1 nd filter, so which is the most useable?

0.3- 1 stop
0.6- 2 stop
0.9- 3 stop

Andy :)

It really depends upon your choice of genre. If you can only manage one at the moment then I would choose the 2 stop.

Thanks michael, it will be most used for landscapes, waterfalls, sea scapes ect ect

Can I be cheeky and ask what your budget is?
The only reason I ask is I picked up a set of Hitech 85mm slot in ND filters for £32 delivered.

What I got for that price was a 0.3 (1 stop) 0.6 (2 stop) and 0.9 (3 stop) set.

Im looking at the 100mm nd filters and a budget of £30

Andy :)

No worries.
If by chance you budget changes and manages to stretch to approx £51, Formatt.co.uk and teamworkphoto are doing the 3 filter set for that price for the 100mm filters.

Ill keep that in mind stuart, now searching around the house for spare change .

Thanks stu.

I don't really think there is a 'correct' choice here, it all depends on the situation and how bright the sky is compared to the ground. I'd be tempted to get the middle ND2, though.

Also, make sure you get a hard edge grad - I find they're much more usable than a very soft graduation.
