i posted a thread the other day to ask advice on which camera i should purchase to get me back into photography i was advised well 2 cameras was in my range for price but which one shhould i go for:

Canon EOS 1000D with 18-55mm DC (non IS) Kit?

Olympus E-420 Digital SLR with 14-42mm and 40-150mm Lenses?

i have done photography before but i am stil learning please let me know what you think guys 'n' girls please(y)
 
have you tried them out in a shop? thats a key ingredient for beginners. dont forget canon is at the forefront of photographic equipment so theres more choice of lenses and accessories.

the e-420 is also meant to feel horrible because of the lack of grip.
 
i like my 1000d its my 3rd dslr and i would recommend it, especially once it has a grip its nice and big :)
 
Lack of foregrip on the E-420 really got on my thrupneys. But it's a lovely little camera. I'd still take a Nikon over oth those though :LOL:
