I need a new protective filter. Not bothered about uv etc. which ones are good? Cutrently have a Hoya pro 1. It seems fine but I want to I is if I'm missing out.
Many here don't use filters for the simple reason you have a nice lens why put a £15 piece of cheap glass in front. If you want protection some like me use a lens hood.

I use a hood on all but one of my lenses that doesn't have one. However some lenses are not weatherseales without. And the last time I used my wide angle I got over excited and walked into a tree. Branch not realising how close I was! So for idiots like me they are needed.
