Which Redsnapper tripod.

Which Redsnapper tripod should I get, looking at the 283 and 284? I can only see the difference in heights and I would prob go for the tallest.
 
They are both very similar the difference being the 283 has 3 leg sections and the 284 has 4 leg sections. This means the 283 will be a bit sturdier fully extended but the 284 will be a bit more compact when folded down. Both are very decent tripods though just depends if you want that extra bit of portability.
 
I originally bought the 283 now have the 284. Both seem very sturdy, certainly firm enough for when I had my D300 and big lens. Get a good head though :naughty: The supplied heads ( if you get the special offer ones) are a bit basic but will get you going.

I love my 284, I only bought it over the 283 because it folds shorter though I may go for the 283 if I were to buy another one due to it being quicker to use. The quality is excellent. I also bought the ball head and it is ok- nice quality and easy to use, though I have seen much smoother and quicker locking ones- but they are loads more expensive!
 
Both the models should be similar if compactness isn't important to you. Used to have the 284 and its pretty good.
