Which scanner?

Yes
Got a whole load of slides & negs to scan in- but I'm not all that happy with my current device (Epsom Perfection flat-bed type). I just think the slides look way better than than the scanned result.

I was toying with the idea of a dedicated film scanner- specifcaly a Nikon Coolscan V. Does anyone here use these? Can they cope with dark slides/sunsets? Is there a grain reduction/multipass scan function?

Thanks in advance!

I do :) and more to the point I may have one for sale :) Drop me a PM if interested ....

I have used one for 12 months to back up and scan in my slides and neg's. Gives a cracking 50meg file.
The Coolscan V is a quality scanner and is the one I use
They cope well with dark slides... but they also give you the option to do a curves adjustment prior to the scan...

PM me- I could talk all day !! :)
