Which SD Card for my Nikon D610?

Hi, quick question - which card would you recommend? Sandisk Extreme or Sandisk extreme Pro? Is 45 MB/s fast enough or something faster? Currently using a standard sandisk which I'm finding really slow.

Suggestions appreciated - thanks!
 
Your type of photography will influence your decision. If you're a sports shooter, for example, you'll make constant use of continuous shooting, so want to empty the buffer as quickly as possible. If this is the case, I'd recommend the 90mb cards. Would also recommend the faster cards if you shoot high resolution video.
If not, then the 45mb/s card are more than adequate.
 
My experience (with D600 and now with D800) is that the 45mb/s is fast enough.

95mb/s is only a slightly faster. The difference is very small. If you shoot long burst it'll only give you approx. 4 extra frames (e.g like 32 instead of 28) before the buffer fills and the framerate drops.

Thank you all. 45mb it is then. Might also get a 90mb one for continuous shooting but from your individual experiences, sounds like 45mb should suffice. Thanks once again.

45MB/Sec cards are fine for 1080P video. use them all the time.
 
I use 45MB/Sec cards and they cope with anything I write to them, even in continuous shutter mode of 12 frames per second

Even for video, the 90mb/s is not necessary. The d600 records H.264 with average 24Mbps bit rate. Any class 10 card (incl. 30mb/s) is fine. I was able to record video even on a class 4 SD card.

It could be handy to get the video from card to computer.

transend do a 45/85 speed card or about that, thats the cheapest decent brand fast card when i last looked
