I know I'm just being idle and the manual for the Nikon D50 will tell me somewhere, but what is the maximum GB I can use, and can I use the newer SDHC cards?
I currently use Sandisk Ultra 2GB, has anyone any experience on the Nikon SD card?
Thanks

I used to have a D50

2GB SD is your max I think as it doesn't take SDHC

I wouldn't get a Nikon own brand SD card, probably charge stupid amounts because it says "Nikon" on it, go for a Sandisk, or for cheaper, but with very similar performance/reliability, a transcend.

As Dinners said, doesn't look like it's supports SDHC, so 2GB will be your max size.

I've always used Sandisk 2gb in my D40, no problems.

I've always understood that some 4gb cards will work, but it is a case of trial and error - apart from which, I am not a believer in using the biggest card possible - if you "lose" that card you lose everything.
I took 4 cards when I went to Egypt earlier this year and deliberately didn't fill any of them.

I have a D50 and 2gb is the maximum. I tried a 4gb and it showed as no card.

The Nikon D50 only supports SD not SDHC or SDXC so the limit is 2GB. I used the Sandisk Ultra in mine, I got them from play for about £7 each. I might see if I can try the extreme though see if I can get more than a 4 shot continuous before hitting the end of the buffer.
