Yes
Just purchased the D610 today:) and was wondering what 3rd party batteries are the best for it.

Which battery does it use? If it's an en-el15 and battery life is anything like my d7100 or d7000 than it should easily be good for all day. My friends d800 last all day with some life left to spare. I've only just picked up a spare battery and only due to a planned two night trip to skomer island where it's not possible to charge a battery. I would try your new camera first before deciding if you need a spare battery.

Have heard that the battery lasts quite a while, maybe being over cautious really, or an accessory addict. :)

And yes it uses the same battery as the D7100

I would first try it out to see what you think it's like. So far I've not yet got near using a full battery in a day. If it was not for planning three full days of shooting before being able to get to a charger I won't have bought a spare battery.

I can shoot a wedding for the entire day and use only 1 battery. I only carry a backup in case my main battery just dies. So depends on what you are shooting and for how long.

If you are using it for video a lot then you may well need a spare.
