Which tripod for my Nikon D3100?

Hey everyone!
I'm fairly new to photography but I would like to invest in a good tripod so that I can attempt some different styles of photography.

I have a Nikon D3100 (which I presume will be light compared to more professional bodys)
I am also purchasing a Nikon 70-300mm VR lens which will be my biggest and heaviest lens.
I'm not bothered about the tripod being portable or light in weight as carrying it in my hand is not an issue.

I'd like a tripod which is good for outdoor photography, and My budget is about £50 but would stretch up to £100 max.
What would you guys recommend?

I had a flick through the manfrotto product book today in my local camera shop but there was so many to choose from and the staff were a bit too busy to offer any help, what would you reccomend?
 
I got a jessops carbon fibre one for about 99 quid and have been well pleased with it so far.
 
Giotto's usually have bargains on their alu. tripods on run up to Xmas. Having owned both I rate them over the similar Manfrotto offerings, just my £0.02 :)

a 190 ProXB, if you can get a deal on that with a decent head then :thumbs:
