Which Tripod to Buy

I’ve decided that I need a heavier tripod. So, can anyone suggest a good one, or give guidance on things to consider.

The tripod needs to be future proof (only been taking my camera serious for last few months), but sadly it cannot break the bank.
How much do I have to spend I hear you say – I’m not sure what would be a reasonable amount to spend on a tripod, but I’d be happy if I could keep it around £50.

I do not do studio work and like combining my photography with my walking, so it needs to be as light as possible, but without affecting my photographs!

I liked the long exposure photos I took recently and would be interested in more like this (see link below) and some waterfall shots.

Something that could provide various perspectives from ground level and upwards would be good.

I’d also like to try some panning photography and stitching of scenery photographs in the near future.

So what do you all think!

So the suggestions are redsnapper and it looks like for £70 I get something suitable.

However, I'm reading another thread on tripods and this one is looking at £500!
Too much for me, but it makes me wonder if I'm aiming too cheap?

Stability I think is the main issue as I hope to take long exposure shots.

Can anyone suggest an intermediate?

Yes if you want the best, and only ever want to buy one tripod get a Gitzo £450 - £500 without a head, add £250 for a decent head.

From reports on here the Redsnapper ones are very good value for money.
 
Manfrotto, there are some bargains to be found.

I would probably go for either the 190XDB or the 055xproB.

Both can be found with heads for £99 and £169 respectively (cameraworld.co.uk)
 
I have a redsnapper and find it superb. Not the lightest in the world, but very strong and well constructed.
