Which underwater camera?

I'm new here and will admit I know nothing about these things.

I am looking for an underwater camera with video to use on a snorkelling trip in the summer. It will be used as a normal point and shoot camera after this.

I have been looking at both the Pana Lumix FT3 or the Sony TX10. The prices are similar.

I was considering the canon d10 as it's supposed to come out well, good zoom and depth in water. Only downside is it's looks. The Linux one looks reasonable as well
 
Go for the one of the GoPro HD cameras.

Waterproof to 60metres, 32gb SD card gives loads of space and battery of 2 hours constant record

Full HD video, 5mp stills and wide versions, comes with wearable mounts so you can attach it to your wrist while snorkling etc.

If you are only snorkelling, then one which can handle 15m or so should be enough.
Be careful with ones which are 1m or 2m, this doesn't take into account extra pressure of waves etc.
I bought a fuji camera (XD I think), was quite nice.
It worked well, but started to take on water within a month. Took it to jessops with an example photo, and they replaced it there and then.
Quality of the images and movie is pretty decent. Believe it is something like 12mp, although that doesn't mean anything in reality.
Quite small and light, use it as a normal P&S when don't want to use 7D
 
Thanks for all the replies. I think the go pro kit looks great but no viewfinder would be a bit of an issue.

I have a decent HD camcorder so I guess its more a P&S camera with video that I'm after as opposed to a HD camcorder that takes stills.

Panasonic Lumix FT3 still looks like the best bet.
 
If you wanted the viewfinder you can buy the LCD backpack for the unit on the Gopro's enables playback and viewfinder, just costs a little bit more :)
 
Just spotted that but it definitely goes beyond my budget. Seems like a great job though.
