which wide angle lens for D90?

i've been considering a wide angle lens, but i'm at a loss as to which would be best. The three main contenders seem to be the sigma 10-20, tamron 10-24 and the tokina 11-16 2.8.

I suspect there are others that i'm overlooking as well, but does anyone have any thoughts?

Would ideally look for something second hand in the region of 250-300...thanks
 
I think you mean 'Ultra' WA.

I've just bought a 10-24 Nikkor, really happy with it.
Why did I go for Nikkor, because I always do.

From what I've read about the Tamron it dosen't stack up too well.

Do a search on here for Ultra Wide Angle Lenses, a number of threads will pop up.

Tokina 12-24 f/4 is probably the best VFM in terms of high IQ teamed with a very useful zoom range. 12mm is plenty wide enough on DX for most things. I got one a while back for £250 from apertureuk and have seen plenty for sub-£300.

Other than that, get the Nikon 12-24.... Superb build and as close to pro spec as you can get on DX :)
 
thanks guys, it seems quite tricky to choose one as the main contenders all seem to have little niggles and none are perfect. 12-24 f/4 sounds pretty good range wise, and speed wise as well. I'll look into that one as i hadn't been considering it.
