I have the Siggie 10-20 and the Tamron 11-18. Any opinions as to which is the better of the two. How do they both rate against the Nikon 14-24?:bang::bonk:

i'd go for the 10-20 ive heard good things about it, thats all i can say!

Nikon 14-24 is designed for full frame and costs £1250. It cannot take front mounted filters either. Not really comparable.

Ken Rockwell rates the Nikon 10-24 as part of the DX format dream team. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/10-24mm.htm#compared He has quite a few wide zoom reviews on that site.

Well, I can think of one person who has both so can make a direct comparison between them - and that person is you! Take identical pictures with both lenses and compare A3 prints after you've PPed them to your satisfaction.

As for a comparison with the Nikkor 14-24, well, of those 3, only the Nikkor would be any good to me since I use FF as well as Dx. Since I've already got the Sigma 12-24, I won't be buying the Nikkor either! For Dx use though, the Nikkor is significantly wider than either of the cheaper options and is getting close to the wider end of the kit lenses. 4mm at the wide end is a fair amount of width to lose and even on FF is only an effective 1mm wider than the Sigma 10-20 is on Dx.

Thanks guys. I suppose what I should have said was 'what are other peoples experiences of the first two lenses?' I must do a few tests as you suggest:clap:

What about the Tokina 12-24?

I have used the Siggy 10-20 and own a Tokina 12-24 (on a Canon mount). Both are excellent and represent fantastic value for money.
