Which wide angle

I need some help choosing a wide angle lens for my D700,so far i have narrowed it down to a sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM,
sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG ASHPHERICAL HSM
nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED
Any advice on which one is most versatile would be appreciated also any alternatives thanks.

I use a Sigma 12-24mm on my crop Canon but it'd be a completely different beast on FF. I have a 20-35mm on my FF film SLR.

12-24, 24-70 f2.8, a tele zoom and a range of primes would be ideal but if going for a first lens I think I'd pick either something in the 20-35mm range or more likely the 24-70mm f2.8 or a 50mm f1.4 prime / macro.

If you have the budget then AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED no question!

Just beware you can't use filters with it!
