Red Kite (IanC told me what it was but I kinda forgot..)

Really pleased with how the 7D tracked and focussed this, it was a "grab" shot, just spotted it flying overhead and shot two quick frames.

Excellent shots, the red kite is my fav though as I know how hard it is to get them on the fly

Nice set, weather looks better than we had yesterday, that would be a Red Kite in the last, great birds.

We heard the kites, Saturday but never got to see them, mind, the cloud was so low at times we couldn't see a great deal :D

Well caught (y)

It`s the first time I`ve got a "shot" of a properly wild bird of prey. I`ve done a couple of falconry days, but generally, they`re flown on predetermined routes so you're prepped for them coming in.

Well chuffed with how sharp it was considering it was at 400mm and handheld!:D

There`s been a little NR carried out, and a little sharpening but not an awful lot considering.

Like the 'black and white' bear, the mono pulls you in to the detail of the fur.

Was the Kite taken on the top of the lookout hill?? I saw some there back in november but they never came in close enough.
