Hi All,

I have been lurking and reading and learning, thanks. I have decided that I would like to try white background photography as I like the effect it gives.

I notice that there seems to bit a kind of distaste towards it and cant figure out why?

Anyway I will help myself by saying that I have an attention disorder and learn best in small chunks. A page of search results usually results in me clicking the close button:cuckoo:

I wonder if you have any bookmarked links that might help me with the basics of white background photography please?

I fancy using the next few months to learn this technique.

Oh I have an old projector screen thats on a stand...any use?

I think some people have went off the white background these days because its been done so many time

Yup - that's the usual comment

And why I flourish on it still and it's the ONLY background request I get

Thanks for those links... I am maybe thwarted before I begin, it looks like I would need lots of kit to do this:eek:

What I have so far is My D40, sb600, sb 50dx, and fingers crossed

Easiest way is get the Lastolite HiLite together with a couple of lights and you can get some pretty decent results.

You've got two speedlights there, that will suffice if you're not shooting in a massive room/studio. What you need to be doing is totally overexposing the background so you have one speedlight behind the model pointing at your white wall/background and the other light on the model, in whatever position makes the model look best. Take a shot and have some system to fire both flashes off at the same time. It's not too difficult. You can use ebay triggers, pocket wizards or sync cables.

As flashman said the customers still love it, especially for the kids. By far the biggest request.
