White balance question. Would this work?

I got reading up on custom white balances tonight along with the methods for achieving them, from white/grey card to using grey cloud cover and eventually on to white balance lens caps.
I'm not debating the benefits/drawbacks of various methods here but would the idea of having a white balance body cap work. Thus saving, potentially, having multiple sizes of caps to fit different sizes of lenses?
Just a thought.

If you use Lee filters at all they sell lens caps which fit over your filter ring to save removing them to fit standard lens caps, they can be used for white balance if you wish. I keep them on all my lenses and label them so I know which lens to pull out of my bag.
