White Balance?

Hi, a quick and simple question if you don't mind...

Trying to sell one of my old lenses and took a picture... I took it simply stood on a sheet of white paper with a flash bouncing off the ceiling... thing is as you can see the white paper isn't white! Is this just a lighting issue or is it a white balance problem?

Thanks

What other lighting was on in the room?
Could be a mixture of 2 types of lighting causing the issue.

Try removing the lens from the shot - take a picture of just the paper - then select custom white balance - and set it.

Put the lens back - retake the shot and your paper should be white.

Cheers bob, think it was lighting issue.

What colour are your walls?

Cream.

Cheers dinners, I did that but even shooting a white sheet of paper it didnt seem properly white... retook the picture, aimed flash at the lens and switched off another light in here. Seemed to work much better.

Thanks for the pointers.

Looks much better :) I can see a slight tone change going off to the left from about the focusing ring. Not so noticeable on the right side.
Unless its just my monitor :( Must re-calibrate it..

Wow

I will try that technique

Bounce flash with 2 light sources my old tamron lens

Then direct flash and " hey presto " it turns into a Canon lens

Wish me luck

I am hoping it turns into a 300mm F2.8
