Does it really matter?

I can buy the lens i want in 'white box' for considerably cheaper; what arw the negatives of purchasing 'white box' ?
 
It doesn't come in a colourful box?

Seriously, white box lenses are normally part of a kit that's been broken up I think. The lens is exactly the same.
 
Thanks, that's basically what I guessed. Kerso sell white box as 'new with 1 year USA warranty' , just thought I'd double check with you peeps first :)
 
One question, white box or grey import - both around the same price; what should I go for?

From Kerso's description, in this case I think it's the same thing. It sound like it's from a kit that Kerso has split himself. If it doesn't have a UK warranty then it's a grey import.
 
I work for a large photo retailer (No not Jessops!!) and we sell loads of white box lenses. They do come straight out of a kit (All UK Stock) and then we sell the rest as Body Only units so you are getting a good deal.
