White Tarpaulin

Hi guys,

Anybody tried "White Tarpaulin" for a floor covering for mobile studio shoots. Apologies if this has been asked else where on here, did have a quick look but nothing concrete

When you say tarpaulin what material are you talking? Vinyl, PE, ripstop nylon etcetc

We considered it but just went for chip board and mdf curve.

We may go down that route if it becomes a pain in the ass painting all the time.

Which I agree with for a static setup but the OP is talking mobile

To the OP:
I use a 6m x 3m vinyl tarp for my nursery work and it lasts for years and cleans up with CIF cream and a cloth no problem

Mine is very heavy duty stuff mind.

Missed the mobile part...

Yes I did, it worked well but you'll need a decent way to stop it unrolling under its own weight. We had both with creases. You also need a way of transporting it, roof rack would be ideal!

In the studio we considered (very briefly) glueing one to the wall rather than plastering the floor. I kind of wish I had now as it would have been easier to keep clean!

Thanks guys, think i will give it a go. Heavy duty Tarp is what i am looking at ; same grade/higher than the stuff used in Curtain Side lorries

, so should last a while. Thanks for the tip on cleaning, this Forum never fails to surprise in its helpful and friendliness.

Paid £70 for it two years ago (6m x 3m white vinyl) and haven't needed to cut anything off the length yet!!!

I used a White Tarp, I LOVE IT! I don't know what I would do without it! I bought mine from tarpsplus.com
