Beginner Why do lines look broken in my images?

Good morning all,

Just a quickie, why do lines off of vertical look "broken" on my images on screen? I've been out early this morning to take some sunrise/boat shots and all the rigging on the boats looks zig-zaged but when viewed in at 100% they look OK. Is it to do with the resolution on my screen?

Yes, it's the resolution of the screen and the interpolation of the small image the camera is displaying.
