Yes
As per thread title or do Canon make different versions?

it all depends on the model , ef-s canon lenses dont work with extenders , what model of lens is it ??

If it is a 70-300 APO then you can't fit canon or sigma extenders to it - they are designed that way

what model of lens is it ??

Its the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 APO DG Macro HSM EX.

The Sigma fits my 450d & the 2x with a Canon 70-200 2.8 L non IS also fits
but the Sigma would not fit the 2x ext.

the only thing i can think of is that the canon TC protrudes more into the rear element than the sigma will allow?

If that is the case & i have to purchase a Sigma 2x, will the Canon lenses
fit the Sigma 2x ok?

you should be able to test if it is definately the case with the sigma lens on the canon TC.

try attaching the TC while the zoom is set to 200? (should move the rear element into the lens further?)

I have a Kenko 2x which fits my Sigma 70-200 if that helps :)
