Yes
Just walked into Jacobs on London Bridge and walked out again with a 1D mkiv in my grubby mitts.

Could have got it cheaper elsewhere but worth the extra just to have it not be subject to couriers or the Post Office

Now just have to work out how to get home early so I can play with it

Grrr I really want to live closer due to the rental shops. You just can't rent decent lights in Cambridge, I always end up buying them instead ;)

me too!

will be pushing the ISO tonight if I can as that's the main thing for me, and will then focus on getting used to a completely different architecture from the mk2 which I can operate with my eyes shut these days

Hi,

Congratulations on the new toy! I'm considering buying an EF 70-200 f4 IS L from Jacobs Cannon St (purely because they're near the office and the staff seem OK).

Were you happy with the service? I tend to shy away from the big chains but the guys in this branch seem pretty good.

I can't find anything on price matching on their website but I'm sure I heard that they will?

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

have to say they've never price matched for me there but I suspect that's because it's next door to filthy rich city

helpful enough as long as you get one of the guys and not the <sexist xenophobia alert>polish women</end of alert> who know nothing, but would never call them friendly!

:D Maybe I'll stick with York Cameras (If only for the comedy value of Robin shouting at tourists....)

Cheers

Dave
