Why is everyone selling their Fuji X series?

Yes
Just wondering really- the fuji x series seem really rather popular and they review well but the classifieds are littered with ads for fuji x series cameras 'regrettably' for sale. Is there a reason people aren't hanging on to these? I like the look of them and at some point would consider swapping over to them but for many they seem just to be a passing fancy. If you've had an X and moved on, why?

I suspect that people are generally just upgrading as new Fuji's are released.

I'm not allowed in the classifieds section yet, but I can only think that it's folks who buy them and then decide that they can't get on with the rather (old) stylized layout or just decide that it's not the camera for them.
I wouldn't be without my XPro1, but then I am of a certain age and the camera just feels so right.

Agree with Andy, its a very fast evolving system, also been lots of promotions with free or cheap lenses
In some cases only cost a little bit more to get a body with lens/lenses so people bought it that way just to resell and make the camera cheaper overall

Very pleased with mine and intend to stick with Fuji, kept my original xe1 even when I got the xt1

Not everyone is selling their X series kit! I'm happy with my X-Pro and X-T plus lenses and plan on sticking with these bodies for a while - at least until there's a worthwhile upgrade to them.

Yep agree with all the comment here. The Fuji X system is excellent - never a better time to pick up a bargain !

there will be a few X100 and X100S for sale when the X100T is available. It is just upgrading.I love my XE2

There are some folk in photography for the 'gear' as much (or more) than the taking of photographs. The acquisition of the latest & greatest gear is a natural part of this harmless (in most cases) obsession. Moving gear on to provide funds for the next great purchase results in lots of 'little used / as new / new (other)" kit for sale. They do a great service for many and long may it continue.

- and a 'real' viewfinder.
Oh, I do like a real viewfinder. Made of real glass that you can actually see through, without a little fizzy screen buried somewhere inside it to obstruct the view. I'm nearly purring at the thought.

Pass the Rolleiflex ...

I am still awaiting my free lens for my fuji xa1! Love it for portrait photography and closer work! The nikon only comes out when I decide I am out to photograph for the day!
Would trade it all in for full frame fuji kit tho! Just like the picture files it produces!!

My X-E2 is probably the best camera I've ever owned ! :D, I'll have an X-A1 to sell soon, but that's just because I've upgraded ;)

As many above, I am very happy with my Fuji kit. I have put some lenses in the classified but only to replace them with different Fuji lenses. Only thing I miss from my Nikon days is my 105mm Macro lens. Come on Fuji, I need a 1:1 macro lens :D

Some buy them, thinking they will love them, and then don't use them near enough ... it happens. happened to me, I bought the X100s, just never used it enough, preferred the dslr with a 35mm every time. SO sold it on after only a few months. Never really missed it tbh.

I see a lot of people also selling Canikon gear. People sell older models to upgrade, a lot also just like switching gear.

I'm going to sell the X-Pro 1 I bought via the classifieds last week - for me it was to try dipping my toes again as a possible replacement for lugging the D800 but its not doing it for me so I'm going to stick with the DSLR for now.

If funds permit, try an X-T1 rather than the X-Pro1. The X-T is much more SLR styled and has a MUCH better viewfinder - still an EVF rather than a real OVF but it's possibly the best EVF so far! Love the X-Pro1 too but it is a different beast in terms of handling to SLRs.
