Hi. Is there any wide angle lens I could get for my canon 350d for around £100 to get me started? Or am I dreaming and need a lot more? Thanks;)

I was thinking of old abandoned buildings. My 18-55 would be the only other option I got so far. :-/

You can get add to your lens wide adapters, both fisheye and non fisheye I expect, something like x0.42 or something like that should be pretty easy to find. I've had two in the past and whilst one was pretty awful the other was pretty good. Not up to the quality of a real wide angle lens but good enough for a real world image if you are not too picky.

Note that these things may or may not vignette depending upon what you buy and what you fit it to. They may give you an image circle surrounded by blackness. YMMV.

Korean I think and actually they are exceptionally good usually, I own a 8mm fisheye and its the sharpest lens I own

Thinking of getting myself a 14mm samyang too
 
but usually more than 100 quid ( I own the 8mm too )

bear in mind that as well as Manual focus you may also have to set the apperture on the len (which is no big deal)

You other option is to take multiple shots with a normal lens and stitch them together - you can buy a range of stitching software from free to hugely expensive or you can do it manually in photoshop

If you don't mine used and/or distortion and can stretch a little the 8mm samyang fish eye regularly comes up in the classifieds for approx £165 which IMO is a utter bargain
 
So i understand 14mm samyang is wide lens and 8mm samyang would be fish eye so extra wide? Even on my canon considering it's not a full frame. I'm just trying to understand it all. Only learning it all. Thanks
 
Yeah to be honest given that you can get a s/h sigma 10-20 for about 200 notes i wouldn't be sepending 165 on the samyang - better to save the extra 35 somewhere and get the better lens.

10mm is very wide on your 350D (its EFV to 16mm on a full frame) , and the 10-20 is intended for crop sensors so thers no problem there - you are better off with a non fisheye lens because fisheye gives a lot of distortion, especially when pointed up or down - sometimes that makes the shot but its a bit of a one trick pony

Seems like a good idea. In this case I might get 50mm II f 1.8 for now for some portrait shots and save up for wide. Thank you
