Wide-angle lens for Canon EOS 350D ??

Hello,
I would like to buy a wide-angle lens for my Canon EOS 350D (as I am off to walk up Kilimanjaro so hope to get some nice shots). I am not very technical when it comes to buying equipment so would be very grateful for some advice on which lens to buy please ... possibly a nice Canon one (but I just don't have a clue really).

Some idea of your budget might help us with sugestions.

You will really struggle at that price. Eg a 10-20mm sigma normally go for around £300 second hand, and the Canon equivalent for over £400 second hand.

How wide were you thinking (eg what is your current widest lens?)
 
Hmm, 17-85mm might be worth a look with that budget, good range for a walkabout lens. Like above, not a lot of choice, but better than kit lens, and IS too.

I would second this.....Canon 10-22mm a good lens (but took me a while to get the most out of it as I was used to using telephotos!)

By the way....don't take too much equipment up Kili......its a hard work and the altitude will affect you so the lighter the load you have to carry, the better......also take lots of batteries and these suffer in the (very) cold temperatures....have fun!!
