wide angle lenses question

Hello

I have a question about wide angle lenses

I have used in the past Canon EF-S 10-22mm with canon 7D and now i see that this lens is not compatible with canon 5D mark iii.
i have been quite happy with the results of 10-22mm so i was wondering if you can recommend me any lens which will give similar quality as i will be photographing architecture buildings and need and in the past this 10-22 worked .

i was looking at Canon EF 16-35mm,but dont know.

Canon 16-35mm, 17-40mm... there's also an older 20-35mm which I have and use and like as it's very compact and light.

Sigma 12-24mm, although this will be much wider than your current lens.
 
I would have a look at the Tokina 16-28mm f/2.8, nearly as good as the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8.
 
You don't say what you are shooting, but if landscapes/architecture or anything not involving low light hand held, then 17-40L is a no brainer.

I'd say the Canon 16-35 Or Sigma 12-24.

Well, a TS-E 24mm then :)

A 17-40 has stood me in good stead for architecture on a 5D. The corners may be better on a 16-35, though (?) You really need to stop the 17-40 down to f/8 before they sharpen up.

I suspect a 12-24 may even be too wide for practical use.
