Depends how far away from the screen you will be sitting!

I don't see why anyone would want those 'square' monitors these days, mostly everything i've seen is now widescreen anyway?

I have a 22" Widescreen Samsung and I love it for my graphic design and it's great for my photo viewing/editing as well. It's run at 1680x1050, so it's pretty high resolution. I'm looking at buying another one so I can put tools etc on the secondary one.

You could look into the monitors that you can tilt 90degrees so you can use it in portrait mode (the screen will turn when you turn the monitor).

this is something i'm thinking of doing....replacing my 5 yr old 15" monitor with a 22" widescreen one.as i read it,i would benefit from doing so..right.is there anything i should be aware of when buying one...resolution etc...or should they all do the job okay?

I got a 20" Samsung from Amazon last week for £115, and it's fair to say it's the dogs!! :D

Widescreen is the way to go, gives a bit more room for those drop down menus in Photoshop......it's worth thinking about just how accurate you want colours to be, cheaper TN panels aren't the best for colour accuracy
