width comparison 18mm to 28mm

I currently have 28-100mm Nikon lens on a crop sensor Fuji S2 body. I have found at times i would like a little more width so was looking at getting a wider lens. I dont have a huge budge and saw the 18-55mm kit lens. I just wondered if it would be worth buying or would there not be too much difference?

Mega difference. 28mm is just normal on a crop, whereas 18mm is nice and wide.

My 18-xx lenses spend most of their time @ 18mm.

The 28-100mm lens sounds like it was designed for full frame or film with that sort of range.

The 18-55mm lens is great for what it does, nice and sharp and lacking in distortion due to its limited zoom range. Light as a feather too. Obviously lacking in reach, 55mm is just enough for portraits, you could always whack on the 100mm when you want tele.

Thats what i was hoping to hear. As i say my budget is small so i was hoping to get this and maybe the sigma 70-300mm and do away with the 28-100mm altogether (or at least just keep it in a safe place lol)
