Wife now (at last) interested in Photography

I'm now considering a Nikon Camera for my wife - (we are looking at going on safari next year) & she would like to be at the stage of taking pictures when we go...

She doesn't like the D7000 (I have a love/hate relationship with it too) as its too complicated...
I'm thinking of a D3200 for her & I'll upgrade to a D800/e next year...:D

Any other options ?

It's the only bit of time i get away from mine :D
I would get her to buy her own kit, i've wasted so much money on 2min hobbies that the Mrs looses interest in but enjoy the safari anyway and hope she doesn't get any better shots than you.
 
Married 18 months ago (Feb 29 - lol) however have been together for almost 18 years..

I'd actually like her to be able to use 'any' camera.. but on the proviso that she actually wants to..
 
if she looses interest then I get an extra body...simples....

why not get a canon 100d? smallest and lightest DSLR around and she may enjoy it. brought one for my ex a few months ago and she liked it

Nope - has to be Nikon as that's what I have lenses for -(I also like her on the Dark Side)
 
On our holiday to Norway 2 weeks ago my wife expressed exactly the same desire.

Budget was a bit limiting but since I shoot Nikon that was the place to start so she can use my lenses and stuff, and before my D7000 I had a D80 which is still a capable camera, so I managed to pick one up with 8000 actuations in perfect condition for £155 including an extra battery.

If she doesn't use it it can always be sold again.
 
My wife took a liking to my 60D on a recent trip so I've had to get myself a 70D to replace it... result!

It doesn't need to be level - its assisting drainage :D

So the general consensus is that it's a fairly doable plan...:clap:

Yippee - guess I'll get my toy at Christmas then..
